Accessibility

We’re committed to providing the valuable resources on SLED and the SLED Databases to all Alaskans. Using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1, Level AA as our guide, we strive to make our websites more accessible for everyone. Many of our resources are from third parties.  While we don’t have direct control over their functionality, we’ll do our best to help with any accessibility issues.

For assistance or to make a complaint, please email our webmaster. We will get back to you as soon as we can.

Special notice about the SLED Databases

Because of budget cuts, the following databases are under consideration to be canceled as of July 2024:

Can't Get into a Database?

If you get a page with "SLED Databases" at the top and an ask for username and password, read on!

If you're an Alaska resident with an Alaskan area code, call 1-800-440-2919 for a password. Note that this may not work if caller ID is disabled, as apparently the system can't tell that you're calling from Alaska.  Otherwise, Alaska residents can fill out our form to receive a password.

Fill out the form completely so we can verify your Alaska residency. We must do this for our vendors.

Need help with other SLED issues?

SLED was developed by the Alaska State Library and the University of Alaska libraries. Funding has been provided by the federal government, the Institute of Museums and Library Services, the State of Alaska, and the Rasmuson Foundation.
